Containerships has inaugured its Barcelona service. On the 5th of October, Containerships’ vessel MV Purki made her first call to Barcelona. This regular service connects the Port of Barcelona with the Turkish ports of Izmir, Gemlik, Gebze and Istanbul as well as with the North African ports of Annaba, Bizerte and Algiers every ten days.
To celebrate the start of Barcelona service, Captain of MV Purki received a commemorative plaque handed over by the port authority of Barcelona. Also, the country manager of Containerships’ local agent MTL Feeder, Marc Plata and the director of Port Nou Terminal, Ignacio Gomá, were present.
Containerships’ intra Mediterranean service offers a fast track from Barcelona to Algiers and the Turkish ports and an expanded coverage for the Tunis and Turkish exports. 45’ Pallet Wide High Cube containers, reefers and special equipment are available to/from Barcelona.
